Sura 74 Al-Muddaththir (L’ Avvolto nel Mantello)

1. يَا أَيُّهَا الْمُدَّثِّرُ

   O you who covers himself (with a garment),

   74:1

2. قُمْ فَأَنْذِرْ

   Arise and warn

   74:2

3. وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرْ

   And your Lord glorify

   74:3

4. وَثِيَابَكَ فَطَهِّرْ

   And your clothing purify

   74:4

5. وَالرُّجْزَ فَاهْجُرْ

   And uncleanliness avoid

   74:5

6. وَلَا تَمْنُنْ تَسْتَكْثِرُ

   And do not confer favor to acquire more

   74:6

7. وَلِرَبِّكَ فَاصْبِرْ

   But for your Lord be patient.

   74:7

8. فَإِذَا نُقِرَ فِي النَّاقُورِ

   And when the trumpet is blown,

   74:8

9. فَذَٰلِكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَوْمٌ عَسِيرٌ

   That Day will be a difficult day

   74:9

10. عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ غَيْرُ يَسِيرٍ

    For the disbelievers - not easy.

    74:10

11. ذَرْنِي وَمَنْ خَلَقْتُ وَحِيدًا

    Leave Me with the one I created alone

    74:11

12. وَجَعَلْتُ لَهُ مَالًا مَمْدُودًا

    And to whom I granted extensive wealth

    74:12

13. وَبَنِينَ شُهُودًا

    And children present (with him)

    74:13

14. وَمَهَّدْتُ لَهُ تَمْهِيدًا

    And spread (everything) before him, easing (his life).

    74:14

15. ثُمَّ يَطْمَعُ أَنْ أَزِيدَ

    Then he desires that I should add more.

    74:15

16. كَلَّا ۖ إِنَّهُ كَانَ لِآيَاتِنَا عَنِيدًا

    No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate.

    74:16

17. سَأُرْهِقُهُ صَعُودًا

    I will cover him with arduous torment.

    74:17

18. إِنَّهُ فَكَّرَ وَقَدَّرَ

    Indeed, he thought and deliberated.

    74:18

19. فَقُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ

    So may he be destroyed (for) how he deliberated.

    74:19

20. ثُمَّ قُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ

    Then may he be destroyed (for) how he deliberated.

    74:20
