1. وَالتِّينِ وَالزَّيْتُونِ

   By the fig and the olive

   95:1

2. وَطُورِ سِينِينَ

   And (by) Mount Sinai

   95:2

3. وَهَٰذَا الْبَلَدِ الْأَمِينِ

   And (by) this secure city (Makkah),

   95:3

4. لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ فِي أَحْسَنِ تَقْوِيمٍ

   We have certainly created man in the best of stature;

   95:4

5. ثُمَّ رَدَدْنَاهُ أَسْفَلَ سَافِلِينَ

   Then We return him to the lowest of the low,

   95:5

6. إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ فَلَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ

   Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds, for they will have a reward uninterrupted.

   95:6

7. فَمَا يُكَذِّبُكَ بَعْدُ بِالدِّينِ

   So what yet causes you to deny the Recompense?

   95:7

8. أَلَيْسَ اللَّهُ بِأَحْكَمِ الْحَاكِمِينَ

   Is not Allah the most just of judges?

   95:8

9. اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ

   Recite in the name of your Lord who created -

   96:1

10. خَلَقَ الْإِنْسَانَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ

    Created man from a clinging substance.

    96:2

11. اقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ الْأَكْرَمُ

    Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous -

    96:3

12. الَّذِي عَلَّمَ بِالْقَلَمِ

    Who taught by the pen -

    96:4

13. عَلَّمَ الْإِنْسَانَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ

    Taught man that which he knew not.

    96:5

14. كَلَّا إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ لَيَطْغَىٰ

    No! (But) indeed, man transgresses

    96:6

15. أَنْ رَآهُ اسْتَغْنَىٰ

    Because he sees himself self-sufficient.

    96:7

16. إِنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ الرُّجْعَىٰ

    Indeed, to your Lord is the return.

    96:8

17. أَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي يَنْهَىٰ

    Have you seen the one who forbids

    96:9

18. عَبْدًا إِذَا صَلَّىٰ

    A servant when he prays?

    96:10

19. أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَانَ عَلَى الْهُدَىٰ

    Have you seen if he is upon guidance

    96:11

20. أَوْ أَمَرَ بِالتَّقْوَىٰ

    Or enjoins righteousness?

    96:12

21. أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ

    Have you seen if he denies and turns away -

    96:13

22. أَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ يَرَىٰ

    Does he not know that Allah sees?

    96:14

23. كَلَّا لَئِنْ لَمْ يَنْتَهِ لَنَسْفَعًا بِالنَّاصِيَةِ

    No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock -

    96:15

24. نَاصِيَةٍ كَاذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍ

    A lying, sinning forelock.

    96:16

25. فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهُ

    Then let him call his associates;

    96:17

26. سَنَدْعُ الزَّبَانِيَةَ

    We will call the angels of Hell.

    96:18

27. كَلَّا لَا تُطِعْهُ وَاسْجُدْ وَاقْتَرِبْ ۩

    No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near (to Allah).

    96:19
